Charlie Sparks is the ENERGY SELECTA. Known for his fast-paced, high-energy approach to techno, Charlie Sparks has built a formidable following with his explosive sound. By fusing elements of acid, industrial, rave and psy-trance, he engineers tracks for intensity, shaping rhythm, tension and atmosphere with surgical precision.

Charlie started off producing over DJing, something most do in reverse. Completely self-taught at home, it was a long process, with a lot of trial and error, starting out in 2019, he learned to balance his architecture studies alongside producing late at night into the early mornings. That is when he came to realise the huge connection between both creative fields. Just like architecture, every aspect of his music is specifically designed to generate certain emotions and control the atmosphere to captivate the listener. As a result, Charlie has been able to design his energy-filled, rhythmic pounding trademark sound which electrifies dancefloors across the world. After finishing university, he took a year off, giving him more time for music than ever before, and it was here that he started to make faster BPM’s and developed his sound into something that he felt was more natural. 

The summer before covid, he sent out many demos to labels with no replies, yet it was when 9x9 started to play a lot of his tracks in their sets, along with Amelie Lens that interest started to peak for his music. Leading to his first major release ‘Kaizoku’ signed to NineTimesNine in 2020, followed by ‘TATAKAI’ on EXHALE in 2021, both featured on the labels respective VA series and remain the highest played tracks on each release. He has since released on 44 Label Group, HEKATE, WUGD, Possession, and his most recent single ‘Old School Love’ made his debut on Armada Music in September 2025.

Charlie's unique hazardous identity has quickly spread across the world, headlining shows including EDC in Florida, Beyond Wonderland Festival, Ultra Miami, Tomorrowland in Europe, Dreamstate Festival in Australia among many more.  

Charlie also runs his own label and invites nights, ELEKTRA, his baby since 2024, that he kicked off with his ‘Rude Boy Selecta’ EP. The label was always designed to be a home for supporting lesser-known artists, the name was coined from what he planned to call his child one day. It has a connection to family and remains a name with meaning. The symbol for ELEKTRA translates to ‘power’ and ‘energy’ in Japanese, paying homage to his heritage.
